As discussed above, the rates quoted by the lowest bidder, in the instant case, are 3.28% above the estimated amount near the upper permissible limit of 4.5% but the municipal committee wazirabad has gone into retendering process.
Keeping in view of the above scenario, the bids received earlier on 29.06.2020 may be kept unapproved/alive till the validity period of original bid in the best interest of public to safeguard the public money and hence, other prospective contenders may go for the re-bidding process on 23.09.2020 and there is likely hood that new rates would be below this 3.28%. The instant contractor may be directed to participate in re-bidding process.
